Alice J. Bollback

Alice J. Bollback, age 81, of Hastings, MN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Alice was born and raised in Aliquippa, PA and attended Crestmont Alliance Church throughout her childhood. At a young age she was led to personal faith in Christ and later heard God’s call to ministry. She graduated from Aliquippa High School in 1961 and earned her B.A. in Christian Education from Nyack Missionary College (later Alliance University) in 1965.

On June 10, 1966 she married James A. Bollback of Hong Kong and they served together for more than 50 years with The Christian and Missionary Alliance as missionaries in Taiwan and Hong Kong and in churches in several cities in the United States. Early in her ministry she was active in children’s work but later developed a broad mentoring ministry for women.

Alice was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Lee Lemons, and her parents, Leland and Blanche Lemons. She is survived by her husband, three sons, James David Bollback (married to Julie Kimmes Bollback), Jonathan Paul Bollback, and Jason Michael Bollback (married to Tara Donovan Bollback), and five grandchildren: Nicholas Bollback (married to Kelly Cassert Bollback), Zachary Bollback, Lucas Bollback, Sydney Bollback, and Taylor Bollback.

A memorial service will be held for Alice on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 am at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings, MN, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
