Bernice H. Girgen

Bernice H. Girgen, age 94, of St. Paul Park, passed away February 27, 2022. Bernice was born on April 3, 1927 in St. Paul where she lived most of her life. In her free time she loved traveling on bus trips, fishing and camping. She enjoyed going out to eat and drinking her Mountain Dew. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting, Word Find games and most of all Bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Girgen; first husband, John Young; son, Arthur "Butch" Young; sister, Betty Walker; and great granddaughter, Maci Townsend. Bernice is survived by daughter in law, Joyce Young; step children, Joe (Sue) Girgen, Jeffrey (Linda) Girgen, John (Jean) Girgen, Janet (Doug) Hince, James Girgen, Joyce (Russell) Townsend, Jerald Girgen (Kelly Loesch), Julie Girgen; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 106 W. Main St. in Vermillion. A visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at church. Interment, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery in Hastings.
