Maureen A. Klein, age 62 of Hastings, passed away at home on Tuesday afternoon, December 15, 2020. Maureen Ann, one of seven children of Kenneth and Audrey (Bradt) Kochendorfer, was born with her twin sister Doreen on October 8, 1958, in Hastings. Following her graduation from Hastings High School with the class of 1976, Maureen began working in the office at Minnesota Mutual and took pride in her many accomplishments there. On December 7, 1979, she was united in marriage to Bruce Reuter at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Hastings. They were blessed with two children, Erin and Tom, prior to later being divorced after twenty-five years of marriage. She later married Thomas "Tom" Klein on November 11, 2011, and he preceded her in death on October 27, 2019. Maureen was a longtime daycare provider in the Hastings area, and loved being around kids. She loved being outdoors, attending sporting events and concerts, and never stopped trying to find the best cheese curd wherever she went. Maureen also loved animals, especially her many dogs over the years. She was a dedicated Minnesota Vikings fan who never gave up hope for the team! Her witty sense of humor and contagious vibe of caring for others will never be forgotten. Most of all, Maureen cherished her time spent with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ken Kochendorfer; husband, Tom Klein; and by all of her dogs that are waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge. Maureen is survived by her children, Erin Kochendorfer and Tom (Christa) Reuter; one grandchild on the way; mother, Audrey Kochendorfer; twin sister, Doreen (Rick) Berg, siblings, Lee (Pam) Kochendorfer, Linda (Tom) Pohl, Guy (LuAnn) Kochendorfer, Kim (Joyce) Kochendorfer, and Bobbi Jo (Bill) Klein; special nieces and nephews whom she adored, Kristina (Jared) Harding, Jake (Gina) Berg, Jenny (Pat) Moore, Angie Pohl (Adam Iverson), Abbie Pohl, Dan (Katie) Pohl, Bryan (Tara) Kochendorfer, Scott (Anna) Kochendorfer, Wes (Ricca) Kochendorfer, Ashley (Peter) Slapnicher, Ross (Julie) Kochendorfer, Adam (Katie) Klein, and Ryan Klein; many great nieces and nephews; special friends, Barb and Bob Zetwick and Deb Boucher; dogs, Annie and Maggie; and by many other relatives and friends.
